Legal services in Gran Canaria
When buying abroad there are several taxes involved. In addition to the sales price you need allow approximately 10% on top to cover your fees for a resale property and around 8% for a new build. This will cover:
- 6.5% purchase tax for resale or 5% for new build
- Notary Fees (This is where you sign the deed)
- Property Registration Fee
- Plus Valia (Capital Gains Tax)
- Solicitors fees
It is recommended to take out a Spanish will when purchasing abroad although this is not included in the above the average cost for basic will is € 120.
